DATA PROTECTION NOTICE FOR NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBERS

As part of the institutional activities of the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences (CIMeC) of the University of Trento, the CAOs newsletter service, which you are requesting to subscribe to, is active. This service allows you to receive communications at your email address regarding news about the Concepts, Actions, and Objects workshop (CAOs), which is organized by CIMeC.

In compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 "General Data Protection Regulation" (hereinafter "GDPR"), which establishes the right of every individual to the protection of their personal data, and pursuant to Article 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679, the University of Trento provides the following information.

1. Data Controller
The Data Controller is the University of Trento, located at Via Calepina no. 14, 38122 Trento (TN); email: ateneo@pec.unitn.it; ateneo@unitn.it.

2. Contact details of the Data Protection Officer
The Data Protection Officer (DPO), whom you can contact for information regarding your personal data, can be reached at the following email address: rpd@unitn.it.

3. Purpose and legal basis of the data processing
The University of Trento processes personal data as part of its institutional tasks, particularly to disseminate educational, scientific, and third mission activities through periodic email communications. The legal basis for the processing of personal data is the subject’s explicit consent (art. 6, par. 1, lett. a) of the GDPR) and the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller (Article 6, par. 1, lett. e) of the GDPR).

Email address.

5. Nature of data provision
The provision of personal data is optional. Failure to provide the data will prevent subscription to the service.

6. Procedures of processing
Personal data is processed using computerized and/or telematic methods by authorized personnel, in relation to the tasks and responsibilities assigned, and in compliance with the principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, adequacy, relevance, accuracy, non-excessiveness, and confidentiality (Article 5, paragraph 1, GDPR). No profiling or automated decisions are made.

7. Categories of recipients and data transfer
Personal data will be processed by the Data Controller, including through authorized personnel and data processors duly appointed under Articles 28 and 29 of the GDPR. Data will not be communicated to any third parties.

8. Data storage period
Personal data will be retained only for the period necessary to receive the requested communications and until consent is revoked.

9. Rights of data subjects
At any time, data subjects may exercise their rights under Article 7 of the GDPR and Articles 15 et seq. of the GDPR towards the Data Controller: • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal;
• Access to their personal data and the other information listed in Article 15 of the GDPR;
• Rectification of their personal data if inaccurate and/or completion if incomplete;
• Erasure of their personal data, except in cases where the University is required to retain them pursuant to Article 17, paragraph 3 of the GDPR;
• Restriction of processing in the circumstances outlined in Article 18 of the GDPR;
• Object to the processing of their personal data where permitted under Article 21 of the GDPR.
To exercise these rights, you may use the form available on the "Privacy and Data Protection" page of the University’s website and send it to the Data Controller's contact details provided above.
Data subjects who believe that their personal data is being processed in violation of the GDPR have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority pursuant to Article 77 of the GDPR or to seek recourse through the appropriate judicial channels.
